Guess who's coming to dinner

Captain's personal log, stardate 58349.4

Admiral Picard played a delightful guest, and this dinner was something the crew will remember for some time, no doubt. Sharing the table with a living legend is not something that happens every day. I'm not particularly fond of sushi, but the Admiral seemed to like it, so I'm glad the XO picked it. The meat pie made it bearable for me though.
Doctor Molina had one word too many to say about Wolf 359, but that seems to be the norm around here unfortunately. I'm glad the Admiral took it well though.
Commander Yamakawa was her pesky self of course, flooding the Admiral with questions, it was a good choice to sit between them and act as a buffer.
I wanted all attendees to wear dress uniform, but the Admiral insisted this was an informal occasion, so I asked them not to instead.

The Admiral treated us to some amazing stories about the Borg, Ambassador Spock, and the Q. Some of us have read the reports, those young enough have read about them at the academy, but to hear it first hand from the man himself, that's something else.
I noticed he didn't bring an aid with him, although customary to flag officers. I didn't imagine he would be the kind of person to use those privileges, and I was right.

Notes: The botles are circa 20th century but I couldn't find ones from the future .
