Deladier holds the rank of Vice Admiral and oversees task force operations in various sectors of the Beta and Alpha quadrants. She works for a branch of Starfleet Intelligence. That usually means faster promotions and unfair privileges; which explain Deladier's rank at her age, and the brand new Century class vessel at her disposal, among other things... Knowledge is power, and no one has more knowledge than Starfleet Intelligence, at least not within the Federation.

She arranged for the Atalanta to be assigned on task force 437 because of her crew. Eleanor sees great potential in some of the new Atalanta crew members, potential for her less than legal methods that is. She has a charming personality that often serves her well when it comes to committing devious acts.

She's not your regular arm chair Admiral at all. She likes to take matters in her own hands. And she has no problem getting down and dirty when the situation demands it.

Notes: The name Deladier is from the character played by Brenda Strong in Starship Troopers. I love that character and I love Brenda

I saw the name and had to smirk, because it's from one of my favorite Heinlein novels.

Oh I am not familiar with the character you mention. I haven't read any books by Heinlein, but I probably should. I picked the name Eleanor for no reason I guess, it was just in my mind; and Deladier from Brenda Strong's character in Starship Troopers.
